What is the difference between reversing characters, words and lines?
Characters reverses everything, so 'hello world' becomes 'dlrow olleh'. Words keeps each word intact but reverses their order, giving 'world hello'. Lines keeps every line as it is but flips the order of the lines, which is the one people actually use on data.
What would I use this for?
Flipping a list into reverse chronological order, checking whether a word or phrase is a palindrome, creating mirror-style text for a graphic, and testing how software handles unusual strings.
Does reversing work with emoji and accented characters?
Mostly. Accented letters and ordinary emoji survive, but sequences built from several code points, such as flags or emoji with skin tone modifiers, can break apart when reversed character by character. Word or line mode leaves them untouched.
